Civic Legacy
A park, a neighbourhood, and a long view of legacy.
For two decades, Emeka Nnadi helped transform 600 hectares of provincial farmland in southwest Winnipeg into the Bridgwater communities — multiple neighbourhoods now home to thousands of families.
In June 2024, the City of Winnipeg named a public park in his honour — the first in the city's history named after a member of the African community. Emeka described it not as a personal honour, but as "a reminder to others that they can follow."
